I build backend services and data-intensive systems, with experience across machine learning, APIs, distributed computing, and SaaS products.

I am currently a Principal Engineer (Document Intelligence Architect) at Nitro. I design and build scalable document-processing systems in Python on AWS and Azure, applying machine learning and generative AI to document indexing, semantic retrieval, and RAG, alongside broader backend, data-processing, and systems engineering problems.

Before Nitro, I spent six years at Oliver Wyman, progressing from Senior Software Developer to Senior Lead Software Engineer. My work included retail SaaS architecture, API delivery, distributed data processing, infrastructure, client support, and mentoring. Earlier roles at Creme Global combined Python web development with mathematical and scientific modelling.

My route into software was through Astrophysics and an M.Sc. in High Performance Computing. That background still informs how I approach performance, data, and technical problem-solving.
